Originally from Gujarat, India, Abbas earned his Masters in Software Engineering from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. During his time there, he was on the executive committee for the Indian Student Association. He met his Galen Data co-founders while they were all working at a NASA software contractor.
Unique fact: Abbas is the co-inventor on a U.S. patent for systems that automate the transfer, storage, and analysis of medical device data.
