Adam Sugarman
Examiner · DISC type scAdam Sugarman is the Managing Partner for Gordon & Rees Northern California offices, a member of the firms Executive Committee, and will assume the role of Firmwide Managing Partner in June 2026. He specializes in employment defense, corporate litigation, and serves as outside general counsel. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Outside of his legal practice, Adam has a significant athletic background as a former collegiate football player. At the University of California, Berkeley, he was a three-time varsity letterman and was elected co-captain of the Golden Bears football team during his senior year in 2001, where he played both quarterback and defensive back.
He once clerked for the Detroit Lions of the NFL, assisting with player contract negotiations and administering the leagues Collective Bargaining Agreement.
