Of Sto: lo Nation ancestry, Cheryl is dedicated to working with Indigenous communities. She is involved in initiatives to advance youth entrepreneurship and created Canadas first funding program for the retention of Indigenous languages. She has also co-edited a book compiling stories and personal experiences of Indigenous British Columbians.
Unique fact: Cheryl was the first Aboriginal woman to achieve the status of Associate Deputy Minister in the British Columbia governments Ministry of Energy and Mines.
