Chong Chu is a seasoned hospitality entrepreneur and the founder behind the successful Foodhallen concept in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague. A graduate of the Hotelschool The Hague, he grew up in his parents restaurants and has a deep-rooted, hands-on understanding of the industry, from operations to creating large-scale culinary destinations.
Inspired by food markets in Spain, Chong is passionate about creating dynamic social hubs that blend diverse food options with a lively atmosphere. He focuses on creating unique experiences, such as building stadium-style seating for football matches to cater to an international clientele. His entrepreneurial journey includes co-founding several other restaurant concepts.
He previously owned both a traditional Japanese restaurant and a separate business importing and exporting live plants and bonsai trees.
