David Smoley is a technology advisor and former CIO with over 30 years of experience driving large-scale digital transformations at multinational companies including Apple, AstraZeneca, GE, and Flex. He earned a BS from Clemson University and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
He has spoken on his experiences with hands-on digital transformation and shared best practices for collaborating with startups. He has a particular interest in mentorship, stressing the value of seeking guidance and building strong professional relationships to attract, keep, and grow talent.
He is an inductee into the CIO Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Fisher-Hopper Prize for Lifetime Achievement in CIO Leadership from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
