Deidra R. ONeal is the founder of Young, Black, and Suburban Kids (YBS Kids), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering suburban youth through cultural education and life skills. She is also a consultant at The ONealConcept, LLC, where she advises grassroots nonprofits. Deidra holds an MS from Our Lady of the Lake University and a BS from Grambling State University.
As a mother of four, Deidra was inspired to create YBS Kids based on her own childrens experiences and her desire to provide the cultural connections she valued growing up. She actively attends networking events and workshops to enhance her skills in areas like content strategy and social media to better serve her mission.
Drawing from her childhood in Los Angeles, she founded her nonprofit to give suburban youth the same sense of identity and community she had.
