Outside of her research, Ekta is an avid long-distance runner and enjoys painting misty forests. During her undergraduate studies, she was also active in sports, competing in track events and playing on the badminton team, showcasing a blend of athletic and artistic interests.
While still an undergraduate, she helped design and apply for a patent for a visual search app that could recognize text at any orientation in an image.
