Ian Payne

Ian Payne MBE is a 50-year veteran of the hospitality industry and the founder of Stonegate, the UKs largest pub company. Starting his career behind a bar, he held senior roles at Bass Taverns and Whitbread before founding Stonegate in 2010 and growing it to 4, 500 locations.

Ian is deeply passionate about the pub trade, frequently stating his love for the business and the people within it. He is a dedicated mentor, having championed career development and supported countless individuals in building their careers within the hospitality sector throughout his long and distinguished career.

For his extensive contributions, he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queens Birthday Honours list.
