Jan Pepper is a clean energy pioneer with over 30 years of experience, currently serving as a Visiting Scholar at Stanfords Precourt Institute for Energy. As the founding CEO of Peninsula Clean Energy, she led the agency to provide 100% clean electricity. She holds a B. S. and an MBA from Stanford University.

Beyond her energy career, Jan is deeply committed to public service, having served eight years on the Los Altos City Council, including two terms as Mayor in 2015 and 2020. She has also served on the Board of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, focusing on climate protection.

Jan developed and implemented the first use of renewable energy credits (RECs), which are now the standard for trading and tracking renewable power.
