Jeff Phillips is the Manager of Transmission Line Design at the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he leads engineers on large-scale projects up to 500-kV. A registered Professional Engineer and TVA Engineer of the Year, he recently spearheaded a grid modernization project using advanced conductors, earning the 2023 Edison Pioneers Innovation of the Year award.
Outside of his engineering work, Jeff is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is passionate about professional development and finds fulfillment in mentoring young engineers, actively building and guiding the next generation of talent within his organization.
Unique fact: He led the first installation of an innovative, high-efficiency TS Conductor at TVA, a key step in modernizing the regions power grid.
