John Burleson, M.D.

A graduate of UTHealth Houston, he specializes in patient-specific and minimally invasive spine surgery. He is also a medical expert witness and has authored the first textbook chapter on 3D printing in spine surgery.
Outside of his surgical practice, Dr. Burleson shows a keen interest in advancing medical technology, particularly in implant design, prototyping, and the use of robotics and augmented reality in surgery. He is a member of several professional societies, including the North American Spine Society and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.
He was the first surgeon in Tennessee to perform 100 cases with a spine robot and 100 cases using augmented reality.
