John Duthart

John is a seasoned public safety expert with a career that began in 1998 as a firefighter for the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. He now leads Fire & Evacuation Services Ltd as Managing Director and is the Co-Founder of the OpenPEEP Foundation, focusing on modern fire safety solutions.

His extensive experience includes local authority, aviation, and maritime firefighting operations. John has also provided specialist fire cover for television, film productions, and large-scale festivals, demonstrating a versatile application of his safety expertise outside of traditional emergency response.

He played a pivotal role in the Waking Watch initiative, contributing to the first project at Grenfell.
