Dr. John J. Mercuri is an Adult Reconstruction Surgeon at Geisinger specializing in advanced knee and hip replacements using robotics and computer navigation. A native of Scranton, he returned to his hometown to practice. He serves as the Director of the Geisinger Adult Reconstruction Fellowship and is an associate professor at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
Outside of work, he is a former collegiate long-distance runner who still enjoys running. He spends his personal time with his wife and two sons and also enjoys doing yard work with his antique John Deere farm tractor. His humanitarian efforts include a surgical relief trip to Haiti.
Interesting fact: Dr. Mercuri was inducted into The University of Scrantons athletic Wall of Fame for his achievements as a long-distance runner.
