She has translated numerous works by acclaimed authors such as Geoff Dyer, David Mitchell, and James Salter for major Italian publishers including il Saggiatore, Garzanti, and Frassinelli.
Outside of her translation work, Katia is a dedicated calligrapher and practitioner of taijiquan. She is the founder of the website shodo. it, which promotes East Asian calligraphy, and is a member of several international calligraphy federations, exhibiting her work in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
She was one of the first Westerners ever to be admitted to the prestigious Yomiuri Calligraphic Exhibition in Kyoto, Japan.
