Laura Hortz Stanton is a nationally recognized nonprofit leader and the Director of Collections at the Penn Museum. With over two decades of experience in conservation and preservation, she previously served as the Executive Director for the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts. She earned her M. A. from the Cooperstown Graduate Program.

Outside of work, Laura spends time with her family, including her husband Patrick, their two sons, and their cat. Her passion for museum collections was first sparked by a fourth-grade class trip to the Penn Museum, an experience that left a lifelong mark and ignited her curiosity about the world.

She is a member of the National Heritage Responders, a group that responds to emergencies and disasters affecting cultural institutions across the country.
