Lina Del Castillo is an Associate Professor of History at The University of Texas at Austin, specializing in modern Latin America. An alumna of Cornell University and the University of Miami, her research examines Colombian state formation through the lens of print culture, technology, and cartography.
Her work is deeply rooted in archival research, and she has held prestigious fellowships, including one in the History of Cartography at Brown University. She also directs the New Granada Digital Newspaper Archive, making historical documents more accessible.
She won a Fulbright-Hays grant to research and teach in Colombia, demonstrating her significant scholarly commitment to the region.
