Outside of his primary role, Marcus is a passionate music composer and entrepreneur. While a student and trombone player in the Pitt Marching Band, he founded BandSavvy, LLC and created the FlipFolder App, a digital sheet music management solution for ensembles that was later acquired by J. W. Pepper.
His original musical composition, "The Fervor of Ambition, " was performed by the University of Pittsburgh Orchestra.
