Martha E. Villalba, Ph.D.

Martha E. Villalba is a Mine Planning Optimisation Specialist with over 24 years of experience in the industry and higher education. A PhD graduate from McGill University, she specializes in geostatistics, resource evaluation, and integrated strategic planning for mining operations, developing optimization algorithms using C++ and Fortran.

Outside of her technical work, Martha is passionate about sharing knowledge and connecting with her roots. She enjoys returning to her hometown of Cusco, Peru, to present her research and insights to students, professors, and professional colleagues at the local university (UNSAAC).

Unique fact: A year and a half after completing her PhD, she successfully published the fourth and final article derived from her doctoral thesis.
