Maximilian Tagher is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Mercury, a financial technology company providing banking services to startups. Before founding Mercury in 2017, he was a Software Engineer at Heyzap. He attended Western Kentucky University, where he was a champion in extemporaneous speaking on the forensics team before leaving to pursue technology.
Outside of his professional work, Maximilian is an avid photographer and rock climber. He also contributes to open-source software, specifically within the Yesod/Persistent ecosystem for the Haskell programming language, showcasing a deep interest in software development beyond his day-to-day role.
He chose Haskell as the programming language for Mercury from its inception due to its powerful features that prevent bugs, a critical factor for a banking service.
