Nick Quaranto is the Director of Platform Engineering at Wistia, where he leads teams focused on application platforms, media infrastructure, and site reliability. A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, he is a prominent figure in the open-source community, renowned for creating RubyGems. org, the standard package manager for the Ruby language.
Outside of his tech career, Nick is deeply involved in community initiatives as the President of the Charles River Food Co-op, an organization he helped found. He is also an active indie game developer, working on a word game called wordtrak. com, and enjoys sailing on the Charles River in his spare time.
He started RubyGems. org, a foundational tool used by millions of developers in the Ruby ecosystem, and received a Ruby Hero award for his work.
