Patrick Calhoun is the President and Chief Science Officer at Nanocrine, where he leads daily operations and scientific projects. His expertise is in cell biology, viral pathogenesis, and molecular cardiology, leveraging nanofabrication methods to create novel biosensors. He earned his PhD in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech and was a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Outside of his scientific career, Patrick is a military veteran. He served for more than five years as an active duty enlisted infantry soldier in the US Army, where he conducted combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
His unique career path took him from serving in combat zones as an Army infantryman to becoming a biotech President and CSO.
