Prem N Ramkumar, MD MBA

Prem N Ramkumar is a dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Commons Clinic, specializing in hip and knee sports medicine and joint replacement. He is also the founder of a health analytics company and established the first laboratory for evaluating AI in orthopedic surgery. He trained at Harvard, Cleveland Clinic, and Hospital for Special Surgery.

Outside of his clinical and research work, Dr. Ramkumar is a husband, father, and a passionate Lakers fan. A former nationally ranked collegiate tennis player, he enjoys recreational sports and exploring the outdoors in his home state of California. He also serves as a consultant surgeon for Long Beach State Athletics and X-Games athletes.

He began studying the biomechanics of hip replacements at the Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital at age 12.
