Raj Rao is the President, COO, and a founding partner of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), which was recently acquired by BlackRock. With a background in energy investment banking at Credit Suisse and Barclays, he previously led GIPs Global Head of Energy division. He holds an MBA from the University of Delhi and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
He serves on the board of the Asia Society, a non-profit that fosters understanding between Asia and the rest of the world. He is also on the Board of Directors for Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), which supports underserved young people in securing educational and career opportunities.
A key architect of GIP since its 2006 inception, he was instrumental in building the firm into a leading global infrastructure investor, culminating in its acquisition by BlackRock.
