Richard Mitchell

Richard Mitchell serves as the Joint Chief Executive for the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Group and the University Hospitals of Leicester Trust. A graduate of the University of Southampton, he has extensive senior leadership experience across the NHS, focusing on improving patient care and services through inter-trust collaboration in the East Midlands.

Richard is proud to work in his local hospitals, as he and his family reside in Leicestershire. His commitment to healthcare extends personally; he has contributed his own DNA to a biobank to support future health research and the development of new treatments for various diseases.

In 2017, he became the youngest Chief Executive of an NHS Trust in the UK at the time of his appointment.
