Richard Mitchell

Richard Mitchell is the Chief Executive Officer of University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Group. With a background including an MBA and a BSc from the University of Southampton, he has a notable history of improving hospital performance, having led a previous Trust to an Outstanding CQC rating. He is a passionate advocate for staff engagement.

Outside of work, Richard is a dedicated family man who lives with his wife and two children. He is an avid long-distance runner, frequently participating in marathons and half-marathons, often to raise money for charity. He is also a passionate supporter of Liverpool Football Club.

He began his career in the NHS as a general management trainee in 1999.
