Robbie Robinson is the Co-Founder and CEO of MarcyPen Capital Partners, a firm that resulted from the merger of his company, Pendulum, and Jay-Zs Marcy Venture Partners. With a background at Goldman Sachs and as a founding partner at BDT, he focuses on investing in culture-shifting consumer businesses. He holds a Political Science degree from Morehouse College.
He serves as a trustee for cultural institutions like the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the National Museum of African American History & Culture. He is also Vice Chair for After School Matters, the largest after-school program in the country. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
He took a one-year sabbatical in 2017 to provide strategic and financial advice to former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama regarding their post-presidential endeavors.
