Ron Reed is the founder and former Executive Producer of the SXSW EDU Conference & Festival. A graduate of The University of Texas, his entire career has focused on educational publishing and technology, including pioneering one of the first state-adopted technology programs to replace traditional textbooks.

After 15 years building SXSW EDU into a major international event, Ron recently announced he is stepping away to begin his next chapter. He is passionate about fostering innovation by creating a community for educators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to collaborate on the future of learning.

He founded SXSW EDU after producing several successful educational sessions for the main SXSW conference through his own consulting firm.
