Shawn Boynes, FASAE, CAE

Shawn Boynes is a visionary association leader with over 25 years of experience, most recently as CEO of the American Counseling Association. He is recognized for transforming mission-based organizations, driving growth, and building diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities. Colleagues describe him as focused, dynamic, diligent, and an exceptional leader with tremendous strategic vision.

He is a passionate advocate for mental health and well-being, particularly within the Black community, and emphasizes the importance of self-care and vulnerability in leadership. As an openly gay man and a self-described introvert, he has learned to leverage his authentic self for professional success while valuing rest and quiet time to recharge.

He is the co-host of "Texts to Table, " a podcast that brings private conversations about race and leadership in the Black professional community to a public forum.
