Simon Lock is the Chief Executive of West of England Music and Arts, an organization he established by merging three local authority music services. With over 20 years in music education leadership, he previously spent 15 years as a freelance violinist. He holds an MBA and is a Chartered Fellow (FCMI) and a Fellow of the RSA.
Outside of his primary role, Simon co-founded Sound Foundations UK, a non-profit dedicated to improving the resilience and wellbeing of vulnerable children across Europe through creative music projects. Interesting fact: He began his career as a freelance violinist for 15 years before moving into music education and arts leadership.
