Steven Croft is the Bishop of Oxford for the Church of England, a role he has held since 2016. He is a prolific author, a member of the House of Lords, and a leading voice on the intersection of faith, technology, and ethics. He holds a doctorate from Durham University and read classics and theology at Worcester College, Oxford.
Outside of his clerical duties, Steven is married with four adult children and several grandchildren. His personal interests include cooking and running, and he is deeply engaged in community leadership across the diocese, working with leaders of various faiths and civic groups.
He is a founding board member for the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation and is considered the Church of Englands lead bishop on AI.
