Outside of work, Taylor is deeply committed to her community in Durham, North Carolina. She serves on the citys Environmental Affairs Board, volunteers locally, and actively advocates for social and environmental justice, including raising awareness about period poverty and local chemical contamination cases. She was president of the Student Led Diversity & Inclusion Committee at Duke.
