Terry Egger is a veteran media executive with over four decades in the newspaper industry, having served as publisher for The Plain Dealer, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Philadelphia Inquirer. He holds a masters degree in speech communication from San Diego State University and a bachelors degree from Augustana College.

Outside of his publishing career, Egger is deeply involved in civic leadership. He has served on the boards of the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is also a Life Director for the Board of the United Way of Greater Cleveland.

He led the successful effort to bring the 2016 Republican National Convention to Cleveland.
