D. graduate from The University of Manchester, he transitioned from a background in Civil Engineering and deep-sea oil production research to become a pioneer in mapping software.
Beyond his extensive career, Tom retains a strong connection to his research origins. He has expressed a personal desire to return to his "research roots" and engage with more hands-on, large-scale projects, reflecting a foundational passion for engineering and discovery. He also holds a technical accreditation for MapInfo.
Unique fact: Early in his career, he authored a PC application called STC25, which was specifically designed for mapping sewers.
