William Ward OBE

A qualified chartered accountant, he oversees all global business and sponsorship for the event. He was awarded an OBE for his services to the UK economy and the GREAT campaign.
His core passion is making the sport of sailing accessible to everyone. Since 1995, he has focused on enabling amateur, everyday people to become accomplished ocean racers through the unique endurance challenge he created with Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. He is a keen sailor himself.
He helped create the worlds longest ocean adventure, a 40, 000-nautical-mile race, specifically for non-professional sailors.
