Yu-chen Karen Chen-Wiegart

A Northwestern PhD holder, her research focuses on applying state-of-the-art x-ray techniques to study functional materials for energy storage, additive manufacturing, and sustainable manufacturing.
She is actively involved in community and educational outreach, teaching in the Women in Science & Engineering program at Stony Brook and organizing events like "Bring Our Children to Work Day. " She and her husband also serve in their local churchs childrens ministry.
She was a recipient of the prestigious 2022 Frontiers of Materials Award from The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS).
