Alex Richter is a Professor of Clinical Immunology at the University of Birmingham, where she also serves as Director of Clinical Immunology Services and Deputy Director of the NIHR Birmingham BRC. A University of Birmingham alumna with prior service in the British Army, her expertise lies in secondary immunodeficiency and diagnostic development.
Outside of her extensive research and clinical duties, Alex has a long-standing connection to her university, having been a student there since 1991. She is also a proud mother and has been recognized with awards for both patient care and excellence in medical education.
Her academic mission statement is that "survival is no longer sufficient, " driving her to improve the quality of life for immune-vulnerable patients.
