Casadora Boone is a PhD candidate in the Metabolic Biology program at the University of California, Berkeley, where she works as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Lewis Lab. Her research focuses on metabolism and nutrition, specifically mitochondrial genome maintenance. She earned her Bachelor of Science from UC Irvine.
Originally from Oakland, Casadora enjoys a variety of creative pursuits outside of her academic work, including cooking, arts and crafts, and playing music. She also values spending time with family and friends and is active in her church community. In high school, she was a member of the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Her dedicated focus on diabetes research was sparked by an AP biology course she took in high school, inspiring her academic journey.
