Chad Eiken is the Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Vancouver, where he has worked for over 30 years. He leads diverse programs including land use, economic development, and transportation policy. He holds an M. A. in Geography/Environmental Planning from Miami University and serves as President of the American Planning Associations Washington Chapter.
An avid outdoorsman, Chad is passionate about the activities the Pacific Northwest offers. His interests include hiking, paddle-boarding, downhill skiing, fly-fishing, and canoeing. He also enjoys golfing, occasional soccer games, and recently started commuting to work on his e-bike.
Unique fact: He originally intended to work in Forestry Management, but his university discontinued the program, leading him to discover a passion for city planning by chance.
