Colin Semple is the Professor of Computational Biology at the University of Edinburgh, where he also earned his PhD. Since 2001, he has served as Head of Bioinformatics at the MRC Human Genetics Unit, leading research into cancer genomics and molecular evolution to discover novel diagnostics and therapies.
He has a strong interest in the development of clinical genomics within Scotland and actively recruits and mentors PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the field of computational biology.
His research group recently co-authored a significant manuscript on high-grade serous ovarian cancer, which was published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications.
