Darío Malpica Basurto is the Rector of Universidad Contemporánea (UCO) in Querétaro, a university he founded. He has a background in Marketing and a Masters in Education, and previously served as the president of COPARMEX Querétaro. He emphasizes expanding educational access, including launching new campuses and fostering international academic opportunities for students.
Beyond his role as an educator, he has been deeply involved in civic and business leadership. He has served as president of the local chapter of the Mexican Employers Federation (COPARMEX) and as President of the Citizen Participation Committee of the State Anti-Corruption System, advocating for transparency and citizen involvement in governance.
He has also been the Coordinator of the Querétaro 2050 Platform project, focusing on the long-term urban planning for the city.
