Dr. Nilijah Carter is a retired Senior Executive Service (SES) leader with over 21 years of combined service in the U. S. Army and the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has extensive experience in program management, process improvement, and information technology, culminating in his role as Executive Director for Pension & Fiduciary Service.
Outside of his distinguished federal career, he is a former basketball player and an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and Seattle Seahawks. He recently retired to focus on family and personal goals, while remaining committed to serving Veterans in new capacities.
He earned his PhD with a perfect 4. 0 GPA, writing his dissertation on the impact of leadership styles on employee effort.
