Eva Clayton

Eva Clayton is the President of the Nisgaa Lisims Government, first elected in 2016. With decades of public service, she was instrumental in the negotiations for the Nisgaa Final Agreement, Canadas first modern-day treaty. Her leadership is focused on sustainable economic development, self-governance, and treaty implementation for the Nisgaa Nation.

President Clayton is a member of the Ganada (Frog) Clan and is deeply committed to her cultural heritage. She is a passionate advocate for the revitalization of the Nisgaa language and the preservation of traditions, viewing them as critical for the well-being and identity of future generations.

She was the first woman to be elected President of the Nisgaa Lisims Government, a landmark achievement.
