Gregory Thiel is the Managing Director of Technology at Energy Impact Partners, where he leads technical diligence for investments in deep decarbonization. With a Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, his background includes roles as a Fellow at ARPA-E and an R&D Engineer at BMW.
Outside of his professional work, Gregory is curious about exploring his cultural roots, a passion that led him to work in Germany after completing his doctorate. While at MIT, he was actively involved with the MIT Water Club and the Graduate Association of Mechanical Engineers.
He is a prolific researcher and inventor, having co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and being a co-inventor on 9 patents.
