Hengjie Wang
Enigma · DISC type icdHengjie Wang is the Co-Founder and CEO of Kami, a world-leading education technology platform used by millions. A graduate of the University of Auckland with a degree in Software Engineering, he was recently named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for New Zealand Tech in 2025.
Driven by a passion for solving problems with technology, Hengjie’s entrepreneurial journey began as a student. He co-founded Kami to address his own frustration with the lack of collaborative digital tools in the classroom, demonstrating a resourceful and innovative mindset from an early age.
Interesting fact: Hengjie and his co-founders developed the initial concept for Kami while they were all still students at the University of Auckland.
