Dr. Melanie Courtot is the Senior Director of Genome Informatics at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She leads teams developing software and systems for large-scale cancer research, with a focus on integrating genomics and clinical data to improve patient outcomes. She holds a Ph. D. in Bioinformatics.
Melanie is passionate about building global scientific communities and fostering new talent. She actively participates as a judge in student competitions, including for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), and is involved in organizing international meetings to advance data sharing and collaboration in genomics, particularly in regions like Africa.
