Previously, he founded and led the blockchain cybersecurity company Guardtime until its successful acquisition. His career began in finance at Barclays and Credit Suisse after completing post-doctoral research at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
He started his career conducting research on quantum effect transistors in Japan before transitioning into quantitative finance as a derivatives trader and, ultimately, to tech entrepreneurship.
