Prof. Colin Chan is an internationally recognised ophthalmic surgeon and the Managing Partner at Vision Eye Institute in Chatswood. He specializes in laser eye, corneal, and cataract surgery, and holds adjunct professorial roles at the University of Sydney, University of Canberra, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he is heavily involved in postgraduate education.
Outside of his clinical work, Prof. Chan is a passionate wildlife and bird photographer and has been shortlisted for the Australian Photography Awards. He is a board director for SEE Together, a charity improving eyecare in remote Mongolian communities, and donates his advisory board honoraria to various other charities.
He finds great joy in his surgical work, stating that the highlight of his week is sharing in a patients happiness at being able to see again.
