T. Peter Kingham is a Surgical Oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, specializing in liver, pancreas, and bile duct cancers. As Director of Global Cancer Disparities Initiatives, he leverages his Yale University education to lead complex surgical and research efforts, focusing on minimally invasive techniques and improving care in low-resource settings.
Inspired by his surgeon grandfather, he has held a lifelong passion for medical work in Africa. This commitment is demonstrated by co-founding the non-profit Surgeons OverSeas and the African Research Group for Oncology (ARGO), through which he has spent over 20 years training local medical professionals across the continent.
He co-founded and helps lead a groundbreaking clinical trial in Nigeria, the first of its kind to use immunotherapy for colorectal cancer in sub-Saharan Africa.
