Tasmin Long

Tasmin is a Medical Copywriter at Avalere Health, leveraging a unique background as a former equine veterinary surgeon. Educated at the Royal Veterinary College, she holds a Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in equine internal medicine, blending hands-on clinical experience with her current focus on medical communications.

Outside of her professional life, Tasmin is a lifelong horse lover, a passion that drove her to become an equine veterinarian. The career change to medical writing was partly motivated by a desire for more flexibility and time with her young daughter, though she still enjoys occasional travel for work.

She transitioned from being a practicing veterinarian to a medical writer after a friend suggested the role, discovering she enjoyed the writing she did for her postgraduate certificate.
