The Hon. Laurel Broten

The Honourable Laurel Broten is the CEO of Invest in Canada, recognized as a visionary leader and catalyst for economic inclusion. With a Doctor of Law from Western University, her extensive career includes serving as a former Ontario Cabinet Minister, giving her deep expertise in public policy, business development, and governance.

Laurel is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and environmental sustainability, principles that guide her professional and community efforts. A lifelong champion for creating inclusive opportunities, she has lived and worked in six Canadian provinces and is fluently bilingual. She actively volunteers and serves as a mentor and board director for several national organizations.

Unique fact: Before her current role, she served in the Ontario provincial parliament for a decade, holding multiple ministerial positions including Minister of Education and Minister of the Environment.
