Yvonne Essix

Yvonne Essix is the Vice President of Transmission Construction & Protection and Control at Alabama Power, where she has built her career since starting as a co-op student in 1988. She holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and leads various Power Delivery functions.

She is actively involved in her community, serving on the board of the Womens Foundation of Alabama and the advisory board for the UAB School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is passionate about encouraging women to pursue their dreams in the engineering field. Yvonne is married and has two daughters.

Unique fact: Yvonne has spent her entire professional career at Alabama Power, rising from a co-op student to a Vice President.
